2016 TOYOTA GT 86 BLACKLINE – ONLY 450 UNITS
The new 2016 Toyota GT 86 Blackline edition is the latest car designed for
While it has always been criticized for being just too low on power, the car has been praised for the way it looks and feels and thanks to that, it will receive its own one-make racing series where drivers will drive the GT 86 to prove how good they really are.
THE ENGINE RANGE & PERFORMANCE
While it is a larger than usual bump to its price, the car should keep its value rather well considering the limited supply it will be offered in. Just like with all the other special edition models, the new 2016 ToyotaGT 86 Blackline will not feature any changes to its drivetrain. The car will hit the market with the same 2 liter naturally aspirated flat-4 engine which will continue to provide 197 horsepower and little over 200 N*m of torque. In terms of performance the car will continue to sprint to 100 km/h in just over 7 seconds which is barely average.
People will likely get the chance to get an optional turbocharging kit that could up the power of the car but it will likely lose its warranty and that’s a big drawback considering Toyota will offer four $160 inspections in the first four years.
The actual performance levels will not change either which is to be expected but the driver might get a better sense of the car thanks to the improvements Toyota will do to the running gear of the car. The suspension system will be slightly lower and instead of the old low-rolling resistance tires, the new 2016 Toyota GT 86 Blackline is going to receive a set of new sticky rubber which should improve the way it handles considerably.
